20 Dec 08 Phnom Penh - Arrival
Catch your flight - departing at 14:30 & arriving at 15:30. Catch your connecting flight - departing at 17:15 & arriving at 18:05. Arrive in Phnom Penh where you will be met by an air conditioned car and driver. Transfer to your hotel for check in.

21 Dec 08 Phnom Penh - City Tour
Your guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on a tour of the Royal Palace, still the royal residence. See the amazing royal collection and the beautiful architecture before heading to the National Museum where pre-Angkorean pieces, as well as special pieces from the temples are housed. Take a tour of the museum with a trained museum guide.
Enjoy lunch at Friends, a restaurant benefiting at-risk street children. On the way back stop at a local organization that takes at-risk and orphaned children and provides them with education and dance training, sit in on a traditional dance class and be amazed at the grace and persistence of these students.
Return to your hotel and relax before dinner at a riverside restaurant serving traditional Khmer or Western food.

22 Dec 08 Phnom Penh - The Killing Fields
Head to the Tuol Sleng Prison Museum where your guide will explain the history of the Khmer Rouge and walk you through the different museum displays. After watching the movie they show every day, head out to the Killing Fields, where a memorial stupa and shallow pits remind visitors of the thousands killed under the Pol Pot Regime.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Your guide will take you to central market, reported to be the biggest domed market in the world, and to the famous Russian Market where everything from souvenirs to car parts is on sale. Enjoy a shopping spree or just browse along with the locals out doing their shopping.

23 Dec 08 Phnom Penh to Siem Reap by Boat
Catch an early morning boat to Siem Reap. In the five hour journey you’ll pass floating villages, flooded forests and interesting bird and shore life. Arrive in Siem Reap around 1pm.You will be met by a Journeys Within representative and taken to Journeys Within Bed & Breakfast where you will meet your hosts Andrea and Brandon Ross.
You will be met at Siem Reap Airport by a Journeys Within representative and taken to your hotel. Head into town to enjoy a traditional buffet dinner and dance show in the evening.

24 Dec 08 Siem Reap - Angkor Wat
After breakfast head to Angkor Wat in an air conditioned car, or if you choose by bike, with your guide. Explore this majestic temple throughout the morning while it is still cool and has fewer tourists.
Return to Journeys Within for lunch and back to your hotel for a swim or a nap. In the afternoon head to Angkor Thom, the famous walled city and see the many temples within its borders, including the fascinating Bayon temple. There are several beautiful spots from which to watch the sunset. Discuss with your guide where you would like to be and then relax and enjoy a memorable end to your day at the temples.

25 Dec 08 Siem Reap - Beng Mealea , Banteay Srei and the Ta Prohm
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before leaving the crowds behind and heading to Beng Mealea, a temple only recently opened to the public; about one and a half hours drive from Journeys Within. After an hour you will leave the paved road and get onto a beaten track running through rice fields and villages of rural Cambodia. At the temple our guide will help you imagine how it once was as you pick your way through the rubble now surrounded by jungle.
In the afternoon head to Banteay Srei, an intricately carved temple known as the Lady Temple. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant near Banteay Srei and then on the way back visit Ta Prohm, one of the prettiest temples in the complex.

26 Dec 08 Siem Reap - Village and Wat Chork
Set out for our Journeys Within Village Tour. Our village guide will take you to his village showing you rice paddies and typical homes along the way. At his village enjoy a fresh coconut drink and meet his family and neighbors. Walk from here to West Baray Lake where you can take a local boat to an island with some picturesque ancient Khmer ruins. Return to shore where your car will be waiting for you. From here head to Pua District and visit the Artisans de Angkor silk farm where many local women are trained in the art of silk weaving.
In the late afternoon visit the new JWOC Community Center Language School. Meet the students and help them practice their English. This flagship location represents and brings together all of JWOC's projects in a central location where educational and economic opportunities are offered free to local communities and meaningful interaction between Cambodians, tourists, donors, expats, scholarship students and others is facilitated.

27 Dec 08 Luang Prabang - Arrival
Transfer to the airport in time to catch your flight - departing at 12:55 & arriving at 14:20.
Upon arrival in Luang Prabang you will be met and transferred to your hotel. After you get checked into your hotel, your guide will take you on a city tour including Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Visun and Mt. Phou Si. Start your evening by taking a stroll down the main road and browsing through local handicrafts at the night market.

28 Dec 08 Luang Prabang - Waterfall
Wake up at sunrise to give monks morning alms. You’ll be accompanied by your guide who can demonstrate the proper method of alms giving and explain this daily Buddhist ceremony. Return to your hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, you will be met at your hotel and driven to Ban Long Lao, where you’ll visit Hmong and Khmu villages before starting your 3 – 4 hour hike. You will be accompanied by a local guide and trek along mountainous paths through stunning scenery until you reach your final destination, the Kuang Si Waterfall. Here you can enjoy a well deserved swim and a picnic lunch before returning to Luang Prabang by minivan.

29 Dec 08 Luang Prabang - Market and Village
Start your day with a walk through town where you’ll see everything from a silversmith to locals shopping at the morning market for their daily produce. Take a short walk to the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Centre, a museum dedicated to the culture and customs of ethnic villages in Laos.
Have lunch at a local restaurant and afterwards take a scenic drive to visit three hill tribe villages, each with a different handicraft skill. Return to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon and head back to your hotel to relax or take an optional stroll through the night market with your guide.

30 Dec 08 Luang Prabang - Pakbeng
Your car and driver will transfer you to Luang Prabang Boat pier. Your boat leaves at 7:30am from the Luang Prabang pier. Cruise your way upriver to the Pak Ou Caves to see the "Cave of a thousand Buddha's."
Enjoy a buffet lunch on board as you pass stunning scenery on your way to Pakbeng. You will arrive at the LuangSay Lodge before sunset where you will have dinner looking over the Mekong.

Overnight at Luangsay Lodge
31 Dec 08 Pakbeng - Houeisay
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and take an optional walk in to the village. At 8am board the boat for the second leg of the cruise. As you continue your way upriver you will stop to see local rural life and enjoy a buffet lunch on board. You will arrive in Houeisay at around 17:00 where you will be transferred to the border.
You will be met by a driver and transfered to Chiang Rai.

01 Jan 09 Chiang Rai - Visit Hill tribe
You will be met at hotel in Chaing Rai then drive to take a long tailed boat along the Mae Kok river to visit the traditional Karen Ruammitr hilltribe village.They originated from Burma and form the largest hilltribe population in Thailand. After lunch continue by van to Yao and Akha hilltribe village before refurning to your hotel.
